The mandate of the new public library for the municipality of Longueuil was attributed to Manon Asselin | Jodoin Lamarre Pratte | architects in consortium through a two stages provincial competition process. Beyond the traditional idea of the public library as a mere repository of books, they propose a global vision of the public library as social capital. Architecturally, programmatic ideas derived from the field of marketing were used to increase the visibility and attractiveness of the new services to the community.
